Who else thinks that this beanie is THE perfect hat to make for ANYONE on your list? I really love how this hat looks. It has the perfect slight bit of slouch at the top. It is made with a warm and chunky yarn which I think is key for a great winter hat. I opt to use a faux fur pom pom because it elevates the hat just a bit to add a little something special to the overall look. I have got to try out this hat SOON! Just double crochets done in the back loops only and you are done.

I love this look of the hat topped with the faux fur pompoms. So glad that there is a video tutorial available to watch for this project now. After looking over both pictures, I still think that I like the hat with the faux fur pom. This is an awesome tutorial thanks for sharing it with us.

I make hats all the time, but as much as I love crochet, I love the look of knit even more, especially for a classic toque like this one. Its hard to achieve that look in the round, so thats one reason the designer works this project up flat. Its MUCH easier to mimic the knit look with simple back and forth rows then rounds. Forget that pom though. Youre much better off with a Clover pom maker.
