"this is a puff stitch hat that can fit 1-4 year old. This hat is worked from down to top. I used single crochet for ribbing and puff stitch, front post and back post for the body of hat. these stitches look so beautiful together. This hat is worked in straight rows and sewed afterwards. You will need dk weight yarn. You can use acrylic or wool with 4mm crochet hook.you can make it is multi color as well."

This is a very nice version of a ribbed hat. In this case, Post Stitches and Puff Stitches are used form the faux ribbing in the body of the hat. Thats an interesting stitch combination but in this case, it certainly works very well! The piece is worked flat, so this technique could be used in any number of other projects as well. The instructions are nicely written and shes included a video to help guide the crafter.

Just so you know, you will be working the ribbing first, then you will be starting the body of the hat by joining onto this bottom band. A great way to use up your existing stash, and a great charity project if I don't say so myself. I think it is a suitable project for a beginner with a bit of previous experience.
