Cosmic Crochet Beanie
Get ready for the winter with this two-hued, two-stitched Cosmic Crochet Beanie. Use one color for the main portion of the beanie, worked in the herringbone half double crochet stitch, and then use an accent color and the simple half double crochet stitch to finish off the fold up brim. This combination of plush, dense stitches makes this crochet hat the perfect thing to wear on the breeziest and chilliest of days. And, with available sizes from newborn all the way up through large adult, you'll be able to make one for every member of your family, in any of their favorite shades.
NotesNotes:
The hat can be started with a Magic Ring or with the instructions given in Round 1.
The beginning chain does not count as a stitch.
Each round is started in the same stitch as your beginning chain.
The end of each round is joined by slip stitching in the first stitch of the round, not the beginning chain.
The hat height measurement is taken before adding the ribbing.

The Cosmic crochet beanie pattern is a slightly challenging pattern for someone who is a straight up beginner. It's kind of a step above a very basic hat pattern. This one is great for guys because there's no frou-frou in the design. I really like working in the half-double crochet, and there is a vast array of sizes offered, as well!

This Cosmic Crochet Beanie looks so nice and warm I have to have one or two. The pattern is right here on this page with all the sizes you'll need so that is very helpful. Also, under the More tab you can print this page and have the pattern. I learned how to do the Herringbone Half Double crochet stitch a while ago and love the look of it. I've had people tell me that they love my "knitted" scarf and tell me there is no way it's crocheted. LOL gotta love it.. Anyways, I love this pattern and will be making these. Thank you so much for this free crochet hat patterns.

Fairly easy peavey! Nice and warm with the little extra band keeping the hast snug! Outstanding!

I think this looks like a great beanie pattern for both men and women, I wish the band didn't stand out so much from the hat, but it's still a great pattern to mix and match colors and textured yarns for different looks.
