This is a cute idea, but I cant help wondering how the designer got that teenage boy to wear this hat. This hat is designed for Adult and Teen sizes, but the designer provides a link to her complete tutorial on how to size beanies. The instructions for that charming bow are available on this site and at her tutorial site.

How about this super refined looking holiday beanie?! Too often we find slouchy hats made from a chunky or bulky yarn, so it is nice to see something a little bit more traditional yet still modern in design. Should be easy to work up, too, using just half double crochets which are a great choice for a hat as it cuts down on those pesky spaces normally found in between stitches.

Unless I'm working an exceptionally dense hat (like the Dr. Who fez requested by a granddaughter), I normally use HDC. It's perfect when you want a solid but flexible fabric.
