This is a different square. It's not a granny but it's a nice size square. I think it would work for me as a border on an afghan that I am making. I am doing that in a basic double crochet stitch so this would really add some pizzaz to it.

It is a lovely afghan pattern. You can even choose to do it in different colors or stay with solid colors. The middle can also be done in a different color to show off the detail. It looks like it can be a great scrap buster as well. Thank you for the pattern.

One thing thats so wonderful about these solid colored Granny Squares is that you really get to see the amazing texture created by the stitch pattern. Some colors show this better than others, but universally, solids work better than variegated yarn or even changing colors in the same square. When you do that, the eye is drawn more to the color contrast than the texture. Love this simple square.

I must admit that I wasnt very interested when I saw the square posted with this link, but when I visited the site and saw the entire afghan that this square goes into, I like it much much more.
