It would be much better to crochet this bib out of 100% cotton yarn. Very absorbent and there are lots of colors including varigated to choose from. I have made lots of them in the cotton.

I do like the style of this bib, but plarn? Wouldn't it be better if you recycled a t-shirt for the yarn? Plastic bibs of this size don't do much for a drooling baby who's just starting out. Because the picture doesn't have a baby wearing the bib, it's difficult to judge the size. For a baby of 2+ months you would want a more absorbant bib, for the drooling that all babies do when working on teeth, and for those occasional "wet" burps after feedings. But I do think it's an easy looking and pretty pattern.
