(Beginning in this next row, you will be working around the blanket.)

Eyelet Rd:
(This round the directions vary depending on the yarn that you have chosen to work with. The initial instructions will be written for the super bulky baby yarn and then the adjustments for the medium worsted weight yarn will follow.)

Super bulky baby yarn
Ch 3, (dc, ch1, dc, ch1) in same st.
Side A: Working along left side of the quilt, dc, ch 1, working 16 dc evenly spaced (works best if you space them before and after each bobble along the side), dc in corner st. (Dc, ch 1, dc, ch1) in same corner st.
Side B: Working across the bottom of the quilt, dc, ch 1, working 14 dc evenly spaced, dc in corner st. Repeat Side A and Side B once again ending with a slip st in the second ch of beginning ch 3.

Changes for medium worsted weight yarn:
Ch 4, work the rest of the eyelet round just the same except use tc instead of dc. I found that the dc stitches were just barely not tall enough to accommodate the 7/8" ribbon. (The close up pictures for the next couple steps show dc because I didn't realize this till later. Just a clarification if you are referring to the pictures on the blog.) When joining, slip st in the third ch of beginning ch 4.

Ch 2, sc in next ch 1 space, ch 2, [*sc in next ch 1 sp, ch 1*, repeat from * to * across to corner, ch 2 over corner dc], repeat from [ to ] around. Join in first ch of beginning ch 2. Finish off. Weave in ends.
Cut off 2 ¾ yrds of ribbon and weave it through the eyelet row securing with a bow, and you're done!

Tried this craft? What did you think?

Residents of Ontario, Canada need to be aware that car seat blankets with a hole for the buckle in them like this one are not legal here. Check with your local authorities before wasting your time making it!

I'm having a pretty hard time trying 2 figure out just how many dc's are on the bottom. TIA

First printing had part of the instructions omitted for a blank ad. I'm beginning to lose confidence in this site!

How much yarn does this pattern use?

How many skeins of yarn did this take? Bulky or worsted weight?

I just finished this using 2 strands of Red Heart Pipsqueak and it came out great! All soft and cuddly. Can't wait to try it in the carseat for the little one!

This pattern is great! I made it out of the yarn that it required, and it came out wonderful. I will be making many more of these.... Thanks for sharing!!

Awesome pattern....I used the yarn that it called for and it was great!!! Plan on making many more....

I just finished one, I need to make one more. Its for my neighbor, she is going to have twins. I just had one question. Are the wholes for the strap supposed to be vertical, one on top of the other ?

would like to be able to print without the garbage at the top or the blue background.

Copy and paste instructions to notepad.....then print. Nothing u don't want.

I cut and paste to Windows Word and don't have any problems with the blue background.

I always highlight what I want printed (left side on mouse hold down to select what to highlight) than right click anywhere you highlighted, select print, and there is your print. Hope this helps.

what is the actual LENGTH of Bobble Blanket?

The pattern says Finished size: 18 in H x 19 1/2 in W. However, I crochet loosely & mine came out 21" long & 23 in wide & I used a bulky weight yarn.

have questions about rnd 18 are 3 sc in same as bobble or next st, and rnd 20 is bobble st same st as 3 sc?

LG, I just made this blanket today. Basically the pattern is "sc in the next 3 stitches and then do a bobble stitch in the next stitch". That is the repeat pattern through out this blanket. It is very simple & I finished it in a couple of hours.
