"Late Night TV" Sweater

search

This sweater was featured on the Late Show with David Letterman! Lily Chin, the fastest crocheter in the world, made this men's sweater in an hour, but you could easily make it in a few days. This is a simple crochet sweater for men you'll love! This sweater is not only a fairly fast pattern to complete, but it is also intermediate, which would challenge your crochet skills more than an easy pattern would. Who wouldn’t want to wear a sweater similar to one that was worn on late night TV? And with your personal touch on the design, it’ll be that much more special for you or your loved one.

Hideous!

OMG! This is ugly! I'd be embarrassed to let ANYONE see this! And she's proud of this???? You've got to be kidding me!

My husband would let me put it on him (after some grousing) because he supports my hobbies and crafts. He then would have torn it off and claimed the fairies had smuggled it away to their realm, never to be seen again.

no wonder it only took her an hour to make, there is hardly any yarn there to work with

Yes, it was a joke. Don't any of you crafters crochet during David Letterman? Amlost eery segment is a joke. Lighten up.

ugly, I wouldn't waste the evening or the yarn.

this is the kind of thing that gives crochet a bad name

OMG :)

What a stupid looking sweater, what man would want to wear this sweater in public...Oh! Sorry, look who is wearing it....I guess I was wrong stupid is as stupid does....! This is an insult to all of us real crocheter"s.

I love the men in my life and would never make this for even the ones I don't love! It is truly hideous.

I have been crocheting for over 30 years and have got to say this is one of the ugliest "Man" sweaters I have ever seen. My husband would not wear that. When did the contest happen to make this person the fastest crocheter?I'm quite fast myself. Working with a P or K or N hook of course it's going to go fast. How about making something attractive and take the TIME. He looks like an idiot. This is truly ugly.

Its UGLY! Looks Dumb! And who said she's the "Fastest Crocheter in the World"??? When was that contest? You use a size "N" or "P" everything goes fast.

So how did Lily Chin become famous enough to get on the Letterman Show with something as UGLY as that sweater? It had to be a huge joke! Come on. People want patterns that are nice, not something to invoke ridicule. I've been crocheting for 52 years and this pattern is garbage!

I don't know what decent man would be caught wearing this 'thing'. It is neither a work of art nor worth downloading. I guiess it just goes to prove what some folks won't do if the price is right.

Right on girl! It made him look like a fool , that was the point. Tthe lady is actually an artist. Granma

I want to know what man would wear this anyway?

That's the ugliest crocheted thing I've ever seen!

I cannot agree more!! Char50 you are absolutely correct! This really looks like a piece of junk! I am disappointed in Lilly Chin..... People, crocheting is not like this....it should be a beautiful piece of lace like work......or can be solid also....but usually very pretty.

What is the point in making a sweater in an hour if it looks as crappy as this one? From the picture you can see that Dave thinks it's a terrible joke and even she is grimacing at how it looks. Doing things fast does not equal doing them "right" or well. The best hand-made gifts are done with love and care...this sweater was done with neither. This makes crocheting look like a joke. If I was not a crocheter and saw this presented as a finished product, I certainly wouldn't be motivated to take up crochet. This would make knitters (who already treat crochet as a lowly secondary craft) say "See, I told you knitting is better! Look how sloppy crocheted items look!" And NO, I don't want this pattern! Why would I want something that looks this bad??? Just because it was on TV???? PLEASE!

I taught myself to crochet a year and half ago. I love to crochet! It is the most relaxing and enjoyable hobby. I have caught on that knitters look down on crocheters. Why? I have been told that knitting is prettier (with a sarcastic under and over tone). I like my hobby and am blessed to be able to bless others.
