The Suns Out Drink Coasters

"The Sun's Out! Crochet Drink Coasters are a very quick and easy project to make. They're perfect to add a little summer fun to any space and also perfect for those last minute housewarming gifts! This project is also a great stash buster and only took me approximately 7 minutes to make just one. :) I chose a worsted weight cotton yarn, but an acrylic will work well too (it just won't be nearly as absorbent as cotton)."

Easy

Crochet HookH/8 or 5 mm hook

Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

This is such a great summer pattern! The colors definitely will brighten up any surface, and keep it from getting water rings from cold beverages. These would be a great housewarming gift, too. If you do not like the yellow, these would still be amazing in any color! I have so many colors of cotton, it would be great to make a set for every season.

This is one of the prettiest sun patterns Ive seen. The designer is absolutely right in working this in continuous rounds instead of joining at the end of each round. Instead of yarn, I use large plastic coated paper clips for stitch markers. Its very easy to move the clip when necessary, and the plastic keeps it from snagging on the yarn.

Get out all your leftover yarn from other projects and make a bunch of these coasters. Due to the unique design they can be made in all different colors to give as a gift to all your friends, co-workers and family.

Using a variegated yellow yarn makes these cute sun coasters come alive with happiness. A set of 6 would be perfect for a gift to the one having the summer bar b que this year. With such an easy looking pattern you could make a set of 12 for the pool party at your house!

This free pattern for the sun coasters were part of a MMCAL or mini mystery crochet along. I have participated in two crochet alongs in the past and was not really happy with what I found out we were making in the end. I prefer now to wait until they are over and see the finished product and then deciding whether to participate. I like to use coasters as a small hostess gift when visiting friends. I will be making these.

First time I am seeing a sun coaster! I love this idea! There is no way you can be sad or depressed if you are looking at or using these fun coasters. I cannot see any way that I could improve upon them. I'd probably end up making so many of them because they truly look so fun to make! I'd give a set of 6 or 8 to all my best girl friends. Thank you for sharing! I can't wait to get started.

These are cute. I read the directions are they are very easy to make. Nothing hard about it. And they don't take much yarn either. They may be just summer for some but here in Florida they can be used year around. And I can just toss them in the washer if they get soiled.
