Oooh, the colors are very pretty here. Muted, soft, and neutral, actually! A great idea for these South African flowers are to make and afghan pop, like a 3D effect, versus a flat effect of a tapestry flower. Just sew them directly on the blanket or afghan. They would be awesome coasters, as well. Create a table runner, or placemats using these flowers!

I love flowers and have never really been good with the names of them. I have had my fair share of the African violet and I just love it's deep purple. I was hoping to find this in real life on google but not sure I did. At any rate this is a beautiful creation of a flower, no matter if it is real or not.

I can see like my fellow posters that crochet flowers are always welcomed. They have so many uses and take very little material to make and are usually for the most part, easy to make. This South African Veld flower if one to save for a future project.

I love to use flowers to embellish my projects, and this flower is one of my favorites. Its versatile enough to work with both modern and traditional looking creations, and Ive even worked it in wild neon for a retro 1970s Hippie look. If I were showing this pattern to a Beginner, my only complaint would be the angle of the photos in the tutorial. Its an old pattern, so I dont think it can be changed now.

I love these flowers. I have seen them everywhere done in different colors, from Afghans to stuffed animals. These motifs fit together like the granny squares and hexagons, making them really versatile. They also are great to make bags with. I have looked for these motif flowers before and always seem to have issues with finding free patterns , so I am glad I found this.

This is a super easy flower to make. What is so special about this pattern, is that you can make in one to three different colors. The color combination is endless.
