It only uses the most basic of stitches and is the perfect beginner project - it's oversized and great for sharing or snuggling alone! Perfectly warm and fun to crochet. This is an easy level crochet pattern, and the techniques you will need to know are double crochet, double crochet front post and back post stitches, and slip stitch. OMG! Look at her yarn stash. I love it! Now about this blanket. I am not sure why it is called mini basket weave because the weave is anything but mini. Then I viewed the video and learned why. Thanks for that. This is a yarn eater for sure but it does not look like this pattern even put a dent in her stash.

Although this throw looks really cool, she tells us that it is a brick. Heavy, heavy, brick. I am actually kind of surprised to read that. Personally, I don't like my throws, blankets, or afghans heavy on top of me. I'd rather have a soft and lofty LIGHT weight blanket. Also, she should call it the basketweave mini throw, not the mini basketweave throw. It makes it sound like the stitch used is a mini basketweave and it's not. This thing is gargantuan. But it is SUPER CHIC! If you've got the funds, good luck and enjoy

Great tutorial that includes a lot of pictures, a video, and easy to follow written instructions. This blanket is made using 12 balls Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick Quick Bonus Bundle (300g each) in Oatmeal. Beware! This project is a yarn eater. The total cost will set you back about $60 and this is a relatively small blanket.
