First of all, can you believe that such a basic idea for an afghan can turn out to look so lux? I do not know if it is the color scheme or the sheer simplicity of it- Actually I think it is the both together combined! I like to see some sassy fringe on this as well!

The pattern that evolves from this design reminds me of a bar cloth. None the less, I love it. I appreciate the subtle and neutral colors but an afghan in this color would never stay clean in my home. I am thinking a dark background and a splash of color the the accent color. Thanks for the free pattern.

Is the afghan squishy because of the type of yarn or what the texture of the crochet stitch produces? It is a really simple design and would compliment any room in your home.

This is a nice project for Beginners, and since there is now a Lion Brand kit for this project, I figured there had to be a free downloadable pattern on the site, too. Wrong. Or at least I couldnt find it. But this is such a simple sequence of repeats that its hardly necessary. As the designer describes, its all just rows of Half Double and Single Crochet.

This is a beautiful beginner Squishy Crochet Blanket. I like the soft yarn used in this pattern and like the idea of a pattern that has only 2 rows of repeat stitches. So easy and quick to make, with one row of hdc and the next row of single crochet. The two row repeat makes a good looking blanket. I am looking forward to making this warm blanket.
