Lavender Throw

"In selecting the colours for this throw, I used these lavender bushes as my inspiration. The Lavender Throw is worked (as one piece) in blocks of differing shade of purple, which are further accented by a fisherman’s white. It is made with a worsted weight yarn, a great weight for the changing seasons. It is constructed with the moss stitch, a series of single crochet and chain stitches. The bold blocks of colour make for endless colour combinations."

I like the idea of fastening off and changing to a new color instead of making all the blocks and then joining them together. It's a smoother design this way. And the white being added sets off the purple and makes it stand out. I am thinking of adding purple flowers on the white blocks.

Sixteen balls of yarn to make this very smart looking throw. You also will be fastening off and joining the new color in your blocks as you go. You can take this idea and pretty much use any color combo you want. Wouldn't a buffalo check colorway look awesome for a cabin or the den?

I love working with the moss stitch. It works up so quickly that you have quite a lot done before you even realize it. I love the different shades of purple used in this blanket. The off-white really makes it pop. This would make a nice couch throw or blanket for the foot of the bed.
