Lime Verbena Shawl

"There are a lot of beautiful shawls out there for knitters but not as many for crocheters. Well, when I was I was teaching how to make the Brighten My Day knit shawl pattern on my youtube channel, I knew that designing a simple crochet shawl similar to it would be easy. I also knew that the new yarn by Red Heart, Hopscotch would be GREAT and easily made into a similar shawl. So that is what I did.  You can wear it wrapped around your neck like a scarf or across your shoulders like a shawl. Totally up to you and either way it is a real attention grabber. So there you have it, now you know how this pattern came to be part of the many free patterns offered here at MarlyBird.com. I hope you find the pattern easy, the video helpful, and the finished product to your liking. Please share with me the hats you make with this pattern, as I would love to see them. Tag me on social media #MarlyBird."

I like a lot of patterns that I find on All Free Crochet and some of them I like more than others. This is one of those that I like more than others. I do not know what attracted me to this pattern but I really like it. The fact that the skill level is easy does not hurt much either. Marly knocked this one out of the park.

Green is one of those colors for me that fall to the bottom of the list however this Lime Verbena Shawl has really caught my eye. I love this "kickball" color by Red Heart - Hopscotch. When in the store, I will have to determine if there are other shades of the Hopscotch yarn that I would prefer to have this shawl made in.

I like the look of this Lime Verbena Shawl, I wish there was a picture showing the shawl laying out flat so I could see just how big it is. The written pattern is well done and easy to understand. The shawl is one I will be making and adding to my shawl collection. I love the look of it! There are a few video how to's for the ones who needs it. Great accessory for anyone. Thank you so much for sharing this free shawl pattern.

This looks like the perfect accessory and looks like it is easy enough for an advanced beginner crocheter, and interesting enough for experienced crocheters too. A pay version of the pattern will be available on Ravelry soon for those of you who want a pattern without ads. The is made widthwise, from corner to corner and all stitches are worked in the back loop only.

I wonder why specifically she mentions the need for a plastic bent tapestry needle versus a regular needle? This is awesome yarn, in my opinion. I am also loving that knit chunky hat that is featured further on down the pattern page, too! I think the style of the hat suits her well. On to the shawl it is a great grab and go project. The shawl is not too oversize and over powering, either. Nice look!
