With a super easy pattern like this, and so many color options, you can feel confident making a dozen of these for every one of your friends. It's too bad I did not find this pattern sooner, for Christmas this year. However, there is always next year. Headbands/ear warmers are THE accessory piece for gals who like their hairstyles untouched, like me!

This ear warmer is just the thing when you need something warm but dont want a full hat. The Waffle Stitch looks complicated but its really very easy once you master the Front Post Double Crochet. The trick to that stitch is making sure you go in at the top of the foundation stitch, just under the teardrop. My senior ladies were initially a bit scared of this stitch, but we practiced with large hooks and yarn, and they had it down soon enough.

I see this was worked up with Vannas yarn. I love her line of yarn. It is so soft. I bet this ear warmer is very soft, warm, and snuggly and keeps ears toasty warm with that yarn. Lovely idea. Instructions are very concise and easy to read. Even a beginner should not have any problems with this project.

This waffle stitch head band is really easy to crochet. Using the front post of the double crochet stitch makes the waffle stitch easy to accomplish and produces a pleasing pattern. The head band not only keeps ears warm but tames fly away hair without the crushed hat-hair look. This stitches up in a very short time.
