I tend to use headbands to actually hold back my hair and this one seams too flimsy for that purpose. However, for purely decorative use, it should be fine. Since this is literally just chain stitches, this would be ideal for a beginner to work up. Great craft for a bazaar, too. This would also make a nice little present, and introduce beginners to the idea of crochet for charity or gifting.
