This ribbed crochet baby beanie is sure to keep your babys head nice and warm this winter! You can choose any color you like, but as was noted here it is sometimes difficult to find colors you like for a hat in baby or sport weight yarn. I would definitely recommend Caron Simply Soft, it is perfect for all things baby related!

I didnt grow up in a cold climate, so my first real exposure to the classic toque was Bob and Doug MacKenzie from the old Second City comedy troupe. Ive loved that rugged ribbed look ever since. This is an easy to follow pattern for sizes Preemie through 12 months although it would be a snap to make it larger. Leave a longer tail than you think to sew the gather on top.
