The use of the half-double crochets give it the perfect look and functionality because single crochets can have a tendency to be tight and therefore will work up a more stiff finished piece. Half version of a double crochet hits the sweet spot as far as I'm concerned. So simple but looks so elegant.

This would have been the perfect addition to an outfit my step daughter wore to one of her end of the year activities at ECU. Such a simple project but a great accessory to any wardrobe. From the twenty something on up. I believe if you choose to use a cotton yarn, this could be worn during the cooler nights of summer.

What a fashionable capelet. This is a very easy pattern to adjust to the wearer and depending on the color of yarn you choose to use, it could easily be a fun fashion piece or an item to top of that elegant dress for a formal function.

This looks SO easy! I bet you could whip one of these up in a day if you have a fancy event to go to the next day, but nothing to wear over your shoulders. I'm definitely saving this pattern for a rainy day.
