Arches of Citadel Shawl

"The Arches of Citadel Shawl is made using an asymmetrical design making the piece eye-catching and trendy. The design also features arches throughout the piece which is highlighted by the ombre yarn. It’s wide enough to provide warmth on a chilly night while remaining stylish. Pin it in place with a lovely shawl pin. The design and shape of the shawl give you several different styling options. Imagine this shawl in your favorite colors! You can make it using an ombre yarn, a solid color, or even a striped yarn. The choice is yours!"

NotesThe pattern calls for using a 7mm hook but you can make it using either a 6.5mm hook or an 8mm hook. Whichever hook meets gauge the closest.

The Citadel is a military academy in my neighboring state of South Carolina so I had to take a peek at this pattern. I could not determine the reason for the name but that will not deter me from wanting to create this arches of citadel shawl. This is a beautiful shawl.

What I like about working with the Red Heart Super Saver Ombre yarn, although not at all my go-to yarn, it has a really great bounce and recovery to the finished piece- whatever you are working on- but especially wearables. By looking at the wrap, I never would have guessed that is the yarn she used! It is so pretty.

Very pretty and very stylish shawl. The color gradients are very smooth and the colors work very well together. The designer made this with the very large 7mm hook which she says is not very common. Fortunately, I have one of those for myself but I dont remember ever actually using it.
