Sunset Shawl

search

If you know someone in need of warmth, this Sunset Shawl is the perfect pattern to give as a gift. This beautiful crocheted shawl is an easy prayer shawl pattern to complete. It begins as a basic triangular shaped shawl, but turns into a batwing shaped piece as you add the border. The earth toned colors are perfect for any time of the year, but the light and lacy design makes this especially appropriate for spring and summer. It's a great item to wear over a tank top of sleeveless blouse.

All shawls hold a special place in my heart. I think they are little slices of heaven. They can spruce up any outfit and take it up or down a level depending on the shawl you select. I have accumulated quite a few and I would love to add this to the collection. Thanks for sharing your first effort. I can not wait to get started.

What a beautiful sentiment in the creation of this sunset shawl. You are a very thoughtful Daughter-in-law. The shawl would most definitely be a comfort to someone in need. Not only is it beautiful when you Mother in law takes a look at it, she will forever be reminded of her departed spouse.

I love the colors but I find it small and not very convenient to use. I like oversized shawls and ponchos so this one does not appeal to me too much.

I like the fact that it is made using what looks like a sock weight yarn. They always come in such cool stripe color combinations, and that takes all the guess work out of it for me. When you crochet with intent and love in your heart it makes all the difference in the world when it comes to healing and peace.

Link to pattern isnt working

Hi JILL, It's working for me! Click the link above that says "click here for pattern" to be taken to the blogger's website. Once there, be sure to click on the link for US terminology. :) Julia, AllFreeCrochet editor

The name of this shawl fits it to a tee! I love the color choice. It looks just like our fall sun sets around here. I'm glad to see the sock yarn choice because it's so much softer than others. As I've continued to read the pattern I may need to put it into my "work into it" category as there are a couple of new stitches in there for me. It's a lovely pattern! Thank you!

Oh my, another shawl that is an absolute necessity for my wardrobe, lol! Prayer shawls are always such a thoughtful and special gift but I have also made several for myself. This pattern looks lovely and light so would probably be good for those cooler evenings one gets in Spring or Fall.
