Collared Crochet Poncho

search

The Collared Crochet Poncho is your new colder-weather favorite. Worked in the round with no real seams, this poncho pattern is fun to work up and delicately detailed with a row of hearts at the hem. Work this up in your favorite color for your go-to layering piece, or crochet the perfect Christmas gift with this free pattern.
From the Blogger: "This unique poncho is worked in one piece, from the top down. It has a folded down shirt collar, and a folded up bottom hem, both with a border of little hearts. This is a one size fits most pattern that really does fit a wide range of body types and sizes. That makes an great gift, but you may have a hard time giving it away! The pattern includes written instructions for the whole garment, as well as charts for the collar and hem sections."

I have started this poncho but has decided I don't want the hearts on the collar. Are there instructions for just a one color collar?

Sure - skip row 3a entirely. On row 3b, work regular dc instead of long dc, and everywhere it says to ch 1, sc in top of heart, ch 1, sk the dc after the heart...instead of that, just work dc in the next 3 stitches. In other words, ignore the hearts entirely, and work dc stitches across instead, but still do the decreases at the edge.

The pattern details are appreciated- we get instructions on how to make the poncho longer. There is a list of clickable links providing resources, too. It looks like it really does fit just about every one, in all different body types, but I would recommend for the plus sized girls to go ahead and follow the instructions for adding extra length. I think the poncho looks great in a longer length!

Just a quick note - I know the description says it is worked flat and seamed, but it is not. Most of the poncho is worked in the round )

I do like the look of this Collared Crochet Poncho. I think after reading the pattern and looking at the collar chart, I will be making this beautiful poncho. I love the heart collar and trim on the bottom. I wish I could print this one so I can take the craft with me while out and about. Christmas is coming so I need to get this one going.. Thank you so much for this free crochet pattern.

It's not common to see a collared poncho and so far in all my browsing and searching for ponchos and capelets, tbis is the only collared one I've found so far. Thanks for this free pattern.
