Crocheting Squared: Crochet Basket Pattern
How clever is it to use a crochet basket to hold your crochet tools? The colors merge together beautifully, but the unique texture of the macrame cord makes the basket stand out just enough from the regular yarn that it will be storing. The large size is perfect for holding thick skeins, and for crochet addicts, this simple pattern will be no problem. Once finished, this project will look great beside your designated crochet spot and will serve as a testament to the usefulness of your favorite hobby as you continue to fill it with materials for future work.

I like the fact that this basket uses a macrame cord instead of a chunky yarn. This will make it very sturdy and be able to hold up against anything you throw in it. Indeed, this would make a different type of gift for a wedding or even a housewarming. I can't believe how easy it is to make! If I were to buy this at a store I would pay upwards of $50.

I love the idea of crocheting baskets to hold my crochet projects.

Thank you for this GORGEOUS free pattern! There is something about crocheted baskets that I just cannot resist and this one is going to work beautifully in my craft studio. I love the chunky look, the colors are so good and the larger size means space for all the crochet projects I generally have on the go. The bulky yarn and 16mm hook means it will be quick to make so perhaps I will also make one with shorter sides for those smaller items that lie around my studio.

This looks like a great pattern for a heavy duty basket. I like the idea of making it with macrame cord - that will make it more durable, and maybe easy to spot clean. It will be a little hard to work with for anyone with arthritis in the wrist or hands so you would have to take breaks and work on it slowly.
