I am wondering or just curious why the designer didnt use scrubby yarn instead of strips of nylon netting? If the pattern was designed before scrubby yarns came out I understand and maybe she has never had time to redesign the pattern? Scrubby yarns are so very easy to incorporate into your other yarns.

No, I haven't tried this pattern yet? Did you try it? What are your opinions? Have you ever made a scrubbie before?

For as simple as this pattern looks, its a bit more involved than the photo would indicate. While most of the owl is made from cotton yarn, the white center is made from nylon net fabric cut into strips. That was probably necessary when this pattern was first developed, but I would suggest using a specialty product like Red Heart Scrubby Yarn instead. That will save both time and money. You will still need some mesh or nylon net scraps to fill the scrubbie so it can drain properly.

There is a whole host of owl kitchen accessories right here on Allfreecrochet. Do you know what is so cool about these owl scrubbies? According to the designer you may throw them in the WASHING MACHINE and DRYER! I never would have thought such a thing. Adorable! I can't get over how dang cute these are! I wanted to make the fish scrubbies that I have seen on here, but now I think I may have to go and make at least a pair of these, as well. Job well done to the pattern designer!

I love how cute this Owl Dish Scrubbie is. After reading the patterns for this little guy I have to make one! The scrubbie part is on one page and the owl part is on another page. So now I have 2 part/2 page pattern, but I don't mind much. I just wish it was all on one page. I have my mess and need to get some different color cotton yarns to make one as bright as pictured. The patterns are well written and easy to follow. This will be a great gift for any owl lover. Thank you so much for this free crochet pattern.

The pattern opens just fine now. And it's easy, just as claimed. It's cute, easy and inexpensive to make so anyone who knows me knows I will make it. And they are right. Except that, I will never use it for what it was made to do. These little guys are too darn cute to use as scrubbers. Toys for my grand kids maybe, to sit on my kitchen shelf maybe, but not that.

I would also like to make them and cannot get to the pattern. If you can't access the pattern then the project should be taken off. But that's just my opinion.
