Cheerful Double Strand Coaster

"I love working with Double Strand for Crochet Projects. They just work up quickly and add bulk and texture to any project. Double strand crochet is the same as regular crochet, it is just that you will be using two strands of yarn at a time instead of one. Play around with the color combination and you can make pretty coasters for any occasion!!! You just need to take care of one thing, that is be sure you have equal tension on both strands and are pulling both strands through each loop. Here am sharing the next pattern of my Crochet Coaster Series. Materials Used:- Yarn (2 Colors) Crochet Hook."

Easy

Crochet HookG/6 or 4 mm hook

Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

I like working with double strands, too, especially for these quickie projects. The nice thing is you can combine different colors to match holiday themes. Black and orange for Halloween, and even some fall colors mixed together for Thanksgiving. Pastels would work wonderfully well for Spring holidays, too. A stack of these would make a great gift, or best seller at a craft fair.

What a nice basic, all purpose extra thick and sturdy coaster design. When you double up on your strands, it leaves SO many color options open for you, even to represent any holiday under the sun. They will be a snap to work up and are a great portable project.

What a nice coaster. I like the double yarn idea. It will be more sturdy and will catch any water left behind. Then you can just toss it into the washer. I also think it will make a very nice trivet. Just make it a little bigger. Thanks for sharing this.
