Storm Clouds

"Diagonal puff stitch is a variation of the corner to corner, diagonal box stitch. This puffy stitch gives the pillow a soft, plush texture, which works well with the heathered tones of the Lion Brand Heartland yarn. The pattern includes links to tutorials. When completed, the 3 blocks of color form diagonal striping patterns that are distinctly different on the front and on the back. The construction also makes it easy to take the pillow form out for washing when needed."

When you look at the pictures for this pattern when the piece is laid flat before assembly, is it me or would this be a beautiful wrap / scarf or cowl? I know this is a pillow pattern and I think the finished project deserves to be made in pairs because it is so attractive.

This is an interesting twist on the usual Corner2Corner project. Do be advised that the designer is correct about the Puff Stitch being a Yarn Hog. The instructions are easy to follow and includes a chart. If you still need some additional guidance on the Puff, shes included a link to a detailed tutorial on using this stitch for this exact application.

I love the look of this Storm Clouds pillow cover. The puff stitch looks so nice and soft, great for the Grandkids to lay there head on. I like the idea of having this as a pillow cover so it can be washed when needed. I'm finally getting the hang of the corner to corner crochet technique after many fails.. I'm going to give this one a try and fingers crossed it will work out. Thank you so much for this free crochet pattern.

You can make the Storm Clouds pillow cover to redecorate your current pillows if you don't want to spend money on a pillow insert. It has a great puffy textural design that I just love. Also, a nicely written pattern with picture diagram is always a welcome sight. Nice enough to make a pair. Maybe one in the storm cloud and one in gray skies -)

If you are a fan of the corner to corner technique, then you will love this pattern! It uses the puff stitch which gives this pillow cover a little more texture. I love how it is constructed as a pocket to fit your pillow form into, making it very easy to remove the pillow form and clean it. So smart!
