Twisted Hat

"This is a fun hat that anyone can wear. The same pattern can be used to make all sizes from newborn to adult. And depending on the colours you use it will suit both boys and girls! You can used whichever type and weight of yarn you prefer with whichever hook you prefer. The pattern has written instructions. But the more complicated stitches have a photo tutorial. The hat goes fast, I can make a baby one in an evening. Hope people will enjoy the hats!"

This Twisted Hat is so cute and so unique looking, I just love it! After reading the written pattern and seeing the pictures, I think it will work out fine if you follow the steps.. I love the front post stitch and the Curly Q's on top are a nice touch. I will be making this one and use different colors for the "twist". The ideas are endless on colors. The curly q's are a nice alternative to using pom poms. I also like that the writer has showed how to make it in different sizes taking the guest work out of it. I just wish I could print this one, I just saved the web page. Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet pattern.

This is such a cute twist (no pun intended) on the typical beanie. It is definitely more complex that a typical beanie, but it is worth it when you see the result. I love how the front post stitches going down the hat and the weaving of chains around the edging look almost like twisted rope. Very unique!

This cute hat can be worked up in sizes Newborn through Adult. The project is described as Intermediate, but the bulk of the hat is actually worked in Half Double Crochet. The colored stripes are created using Front Post Double Crochet that is worked as part of the hat itself. Its not difficult, and the author has added a series of photos for the stripe and edging portions.
