If I were a lover of outside I would just have to make this for myself. I think this is a beautiful wide brim sun hat pattern and not to difficult to follow. I tend to be the type to enjoy the world by watching it on tv. Sad but true.

It is important to protect ourselves when out in the harsh sun and this is a stylish way to make that happen. This is a simple pattern and would probably be made in less than a day if you can dedicate the time. You could have this ready in time for that last trip to the beach before the summer is over.

The super simple hat is bound to be a favorite with my Beginner crafters. I can use it to teach new skills like holding two yarns together, and for my seniors with dexterity issues, the alternative will be using a sturdier yarn like the Caron One Pound. Acrylic yarns tend to be warm, so I get around that by including a crocheted cotton band on the inside.

This is a great pattern for a new or old hand at crocheting. It uses just basic stitches so it's very easy and it doesn't take much yarn. It should make up in no time at all. I am going to make a violet and white one for my grand daughter.

You can add a white crafting pipe cleaner to the brim to add a bendable brim to it. THIS particular sun hat is adorable worn with your favorite sundress. I like the blue flower, but for me I would choose a natural color yarn for the hat instead of the white. OR, I can picture a bridal party for a beach wedding wearing these hats done up in the white!

Wow this The Beginner Wide Brim Sun Hat is sweet! I so want to make one in white. The written pattern is easy to follow and there is a video to help you if needed. I like the wide brim, I think it would be great for working in the garden. I see that it is worked with 2 strands of yarn together, making a thick hat. All the pictures the lady is holding the brim so I am thinking it will be floppy, so what could I put around or in the last row to make it not flop? I can't recall what would be used? I'll be trying this one and hope to get some help with the brim at Jo Ann's. Thank you for sharing this free crochet pattern.
