I used this beautiful striping yarn from Yarn Been, but it would look great in any yarn -- a solid would really showcase the texture! This is so pretty and I really like the ribbing around the bottom. I read the directions and it's very easy. So it's easy, pretty and doesn't take much yarn. And it can be used for either a male or female. It's really an all around perfect project . Thanks for posting it.

I have to admit I like the idea of a series of Make It for Me projects! I make so many things for other people that it seems like my husband and myself are last on the list. This is a pretty hat and scarf set and provided it was worked in different colors, it would be suitable for both men and women. Neither the Shell nor the Houndstooth Half Double are particularly feminine stitches.

Please, can somebody out there fix this unsecure website? I am so leery about clicking on it anyway, because I just don't know why it shows up like that....must be a reason why. She's got so many patterns that I am interested in. I even try to go directly to her website. Anyone out there have any tips?
