Snow Country Ski Beanie

search

"With ski season officially underway in my neck of the woods, I thought it was time to rework one of my older ski hat patterns, and in the process came up with this cute unisex beanie that will look just as good on men as it does on women! The diamond stitch adds extra warmth to this piece, and will keep you warm and stylish on the slopes this year. I've included instructions for making your own faux fur pom-pom, if you like, or you can leave the hat plain."

NotesGauge is *very* important. You will want to do a gauge swatch before starting this project!
To work this pattern you must be familiar with the Diamond Stitch, the Shell Stitch, and the Reverse Single Crochet, or Crab Stitch. Video tutorials are linked in the notes section.
The first part of this pattern will be found on Crochet Geek's Website, or YouTube channel (special thanks to her for the permission to link to her tutorials). Once you get done with round 10, you'll come back to my site for the ending. The pattern calls for a 4mm (G) hook, but many people have written to tell me they ended up with a child size beanie using this hook, so please, feel free to begin with a 5mm (H) hook, or 6 mm (J) hook if needed.
