"Sized to fit from Preemie to Adult, the Sweet Hugs Hat is crocheted in one piece from the top of the hat, down. The same stitch pattern is used from the very first round and it is seamless. Two edgings have been provided so you may select whichever one you prefer when you make the hat. This hat was specifically designed for chemo caps and preemie caps, using a lightweight yarn which is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Class I certified. Super soft to the touch and safe for use on sensitive skin. Sweet Hugs Hat is a beautifully soft design, with a lovely stitch texture and no large gaps show between the stitches. I have provided 2 lengths for the hats - mid ear and base of earlobe."

The seamless nature of this hat is what makes it perfect for newborns or as chemo caps. The author suggests a specific yarn to use (due to its softness against delicate skin), but there are ways to super soften regular worsted yarn. There are also some specifically branded baby yarns that will accomplish the same effect. Remember the trim around the bottom is optional.
