I agree Cheryl Y this pattern does look to be a good one for "all in the family hats"! That's such a fun idea! I have no doubt that it's well written because I've been very impressed with the Moogly website. I love it that she has the hot links in her writing right where I always seem to need them and she's frugal too without being skimpy! I think I may have just found my family Christmas gift for this year. Thanks for this nice pattern!

I haven't made this one yet, but after reading the written patterns and all the comments, it looks easy enough to make. This would be a good one for all in the family hats, a great way to find your family in a large group of people. I think I'll be making these all in the same color for my family. We can just look at the hats to find each other on the sledding hill. The pattern has so many sizes and I'll have to watch my begging rounds so I don't end up with pointy hats. I tend to crochet tightly so I'm thinking of using a larger hook size to start, then go to the called for hook. Not pointy hats.. LOL Thank you for sharing this free crochet hat pattern.

I give back to the community by donating to the local charities. These hats are always a big hit during the fall donation drives. The baby/toddler hats are really easy to crochet and take very little yarn. At the end of a big project, I can sometimes make a few with the scrapes of yarn left over.

The pattern for this hat is available in five sizes ranging from newborn to adult. This hat is worked in the round and that makes it so much easier because you dont have to keep track of the beginning stitch on every single round. These colors look great together. Directions are very simple.
