Shell Stitch Baby Blanket

"This shell stitch blanket is quick and easy to make. Worked in a bulky yarn with a large hook, it can be made in a few days, making it great for a last minute gift! Made in 3 colors, you can carry the yarn along the sides so there aren’t hundreds of ends to weave in, which is always a bonus. So grab you 3 favorite colors of Red Heart Soft Essentials and get to work!"

This tri color shell stitch baby blanket really has a lot of visual texture. From the picture on the directions page you can see the waves of shells in the blanket. These selection of blues and cream is perfect for a baby boy. Choose something appropriate for a girl like shades of pink or actually select hues that are appropriate for both.

The designer Jessie made a great point about carrying the yarn along the sides so that the number of ends to weave in are limited. I know the weaving in of the ends is one of my most dreaded tasks of crochet. I will have to remember that tip for any project that I use with multiple colors of yarn when it is appropriate to do so. I am saving this easy pattern for future use.
