Instructions for the X Crochet Stitch

  1. Chain three after you finish your chain.

  2. Your chain three is considered your first stitch, you will then skip the second stitch and double crochet into the third stitch.

  3. Yarn over, insert your hook into the second stitch, the stitch that you skipped, and do a double crochet.

  4. Skip the next stitch and repeat this process until you have finished your row.

Absolutely looove this stitch! Mostly use it for making dishcloths and other rags for around the house. I preferred the written instructions, and the video keeps me on course knowing that it's looking the way it's supposed to

This stitch is really quite easy. The written instructions are a bit clearer than the video, but in the video you can see what it is supposed to look like. I am not sure what to use this stitch for though. Does anyone have an idea as to what I could make using this?

the video is kind of confusing

is this stitch hard it looks hard

Hi kaiisawesome, This crochet stitch is really rather simple and straightforward, and we have a video and written out step-by-step directions. The X Stitch is really just double crochet stitches and knowing where to put them. Watch the video and try it out! Julia, editor of AllFreeCrochet
