I don't usually like crochet bags but when I saw the designer is Hopeful Honey I downloaded the pattern-tute and got hooking. WOW this bag pattern is versatile and sooooo easy to follow!

This was the very first purse I ever made. And even after making over 50 purses I still will come back to this one. It's so easy and can be done up in so many different ways. I have added a longer strap, lined it, added inside pockets, used hombre yarn to give it a self shading affect. You name it.

What a beautiful purse. I think I'll make mine with a longer strap and after reading the pattern, I notice she doesn't explain the puff stitch. Reading the post/questions, people are posting links on how to do the post stitch. The writer of the pattern says the more loops on the hook the thicker the purse will be. So with that being said, I'll be doing mine with 9 loops on the hook for each puff stitch to make it thicker. To do the 9 stitch puff stitch, you will yarn over, insert hook in chain space and yarn over, pull up a loop, repeat this 8 more times, you will have 9 loops on your hook. Yarn over and pull through all loops on hook, ch stitch to close. I hope this helps!! I will also line the bag. I like the idea of using velcro for closing the bag. Thank you for this free pattern.

Pretty, I think I will try this really soon! Thx! Darlene

Really pretty

Thank you so much for this pattern. I love it Bobbi

I love this pattern. It will be easy to line and put in a large snap on the inside or make a flap to match the strap and crochet on one side of the top and make it long enough to flap over about 2 inches and add a pretty darker or lighter purple button tih a snap on the inside of the flap and other part of snap sewed onto the outside of the tote itself. Thanks BJ
