Carrying your groceries in single-use plastic bags is so 20th century! Step into the modern age with the elegant and earth-friendly Ombre Crochet Market Bag. If you love purple, you'll adore the mesmerizing shades of the Mumbai colorway. The unique silk-blend yarn gives the crochet market bag a distinctive texture that will have everyone asking where you bought it. Start with the darkest shade of purple and work your way lighter for a color-changing effect that will catch eyes wherever you carry it. Even inexperienced crocheters can work up this easy bag pattern.

  • Chain at beginning of each round counts as a stitch. Join each round in the top ch of the first st.
  • To create the ombre effect, start with the darkest color for the base and continue to work in progressively lighter shades with each color change.
  • Magic Knot: To change colors, tie an overhand knot with the new yarn around the
old yarn. Tie a second overhand knot with the old yarn around the new yarn. Pull the
working ends of both yarns to tighten the knot. Cut excess tails and continue working. Click here for a video tutorial.
