I tend to shy away from patterns that require a lot of assembly, but the author does give several photos describing how to make up the project. I think what I will do is work up a bunch of the red and white stripes, gather my chenille pipe cleaners, and do all the actual assembly at once. Im pretty sure thats how Santas elves would work them out.
