The designer is naming this a pencil case but it does not just have to be for pencils. This is just the right size for coupons for those of us that are still cutting them out of the sales paper.

If you kids have not gone back to school yet, they will be soon. Why not send them back with something special that you made. I am sure a young tween would love to have this to store those pens and pencils. A fold-able ruler and a pair of blunt scissors would not be a bad addition to the mix to.

This quick little project is closed at the bottom and then worked as using a continuous stitch until you get to the top of the pouch. The designer states that she turned the pouch inside out to install the zipper, but Im thinking it might be better to just work a tube to give you greater access to the zipper. The strawberry motif is cross stitched in and not worked as in Tapestry (although you could do so if you wished).
