A cowl neck sweater vest/poncho hybrid. That is what I call this one. I read that it uses the Caron Simply Soft, which in my opinion is a great choice for an apparel item. Due to the extreme silky and soft yarn, it drapes and glides over the body. Makes it perfect for this vest. There's the bulk from using two strands but without the physical weight of a bulky yarn.

I love to wear vests. I have vests made of cotton in different styles and colors. But these vests are the usual old school sleeveless ones. That is why I am so delighted to see this type of vest which is so chic and stylish. Any fashionista would like to own one. I've seen the pattern of this vest and it is easy to do only v-stitches and single crochets used. This Simply Soft Crochet Cowl Vest gives a new fashion statement to the ladies' vest with the cowl, actually looking like a mini poncho. This is so gorgeous, I am making this ahead of all the other projects in my queue. Thanks a lot!!

The beginning of the instructions for the Simply Soft Cowl Vest call for 2 strands of color A and 1 strand of color B held together, but in the instructions to shape the shoulder it says 1 stand of color A and 1 strand of color B. So which is it?

did you find out at all, I'm guessing 1 strand of each. did you try this at all?

Please suggest a substitute yarn for the Paris Shawl. Thank you

free pattern but cannot download it tried different ways but still nothing
