Naturally Southern Scarf

"I rarely design a project with myself in mind. Yes, I create things I like but the Naturally Southern Scarf was intentionally designed for me to wear to a conference coming up soon. As a crochet designer, you just gotta wear some of your designs to show off your talent right? There is no better way to advertise your “brand” than to wear your projects which brings YOU the Naturally Southern Scarf pattern. I think if you check out the yarn....you'll love it and want a skein for yourself!"

Kathy, I sure am glad you wanted to create something just for yourself. Sometimes that is when the best rises to the surface. This is a beautiful scarf and I can see me wearing this, even though scarfs are not my thing. Thanks you for the contribution.

It is a well know fact that you get what you paid for. I conducted a little research and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I could afford this type of yarn, 100% Viscose. It is a little pricey but for small projects that will get a lot of wear, it is worth the few extra pennies to have a quality product.

Ive never worked with the 100% Viscose yarn but I was able to feel some at a fiber arts group meeting recently. One of the other crafters had a swatch of Viscose and another of silk that she had woven on a small loom. It was nearly impossible to tell the difference just by touch alone. I generally dont like to order yarn unless Im absolutely certain of the feel, but Im going to track down that Viscose now!

All this is is just double crochets, chains and skips, and we can create a really unique shaped scarf. It has a modern edge to it because of the sharp lines, but then the variegated yarn in pretty sunset colors makes this quite a country southern piece. Very light weight, too, suitable for springtime.
