Ive never heard of the Lion Brand Jiffy yarn, but since it appears to have been a Bulky, three ounces to the skein variety, Im guessing that another Lion Brand yarn with those same characteristics would work as well. The designer doesnt show it, but this is such a simple texture that it would look wonderful in a subtle tweed or a Homespun type of yarn. Ive found that textured yarn does well with humbler patterns.

I do not know if they even make the Jiffy yarn anymore, do they? I mean, I used it way back when! Frequently used it for baby blankets, actually. I know yarns get discontinued to make room for newer ideas, so it leaves me wondering. I haven't seen it in any store. This is a great one or two hour cowl and suitable for beginners. I like the double crochets "doubled up" in one stitch- it gives a nice texture and appearance.
