Now why didn't I think of that! Before I learned to crochet in circles, I was a wiz at squares/rectangles. I think these are precious and the little coordinating button is too sweet. These can be made in little to no time and then you will have a practical item that will get a lot of use.

I guess in my all my years, I have seen square coasters, but while surfing the All Free Crochet patterns, this is the first one that I have come across that the designer crocheted them in a square design. Sometimes, something as simple as this is mind-blowing. The little buttons are too cute.

Adding the adorable little button to this rather ordinary project really makes it something special. This is such a simple, repetitive pattern that I almost missed it as I was scrolling down the page. There are only instructions for the base row (Half Doubles) and Row 2 (also Half Doubles). Row 2 repeats for a total of nine rows. The only change I made was to work a Foundation Half Double instead of the initial chain and Row 1.

These are so cute. And they are very easy too. I am going to use this to help teach my grand daughter how to crochet. She will love making them and giving them as Christmas presents. They are easy, cute and I have a basket of left over yarn that she can use.Leave a comment...

So dainty, so delicate. these Square Coasters. They look so clean you wouldn't want to get them stained on the table. Coffee, chocolate drink, juice stains. They will ruin my beautiful coasters. What's good about these tiny handicrafts is that they are easy to wash. You can make these in pure white or in multicolored yarns.

Love these. I am currently on the hunt for some Christmas gift ideas and I like the look of these but maybe worked with a natural or cotton yarn to be more absorbent since they are coasters after all. Th matching buttons are a sweet embellishment added to these.

A set of these would make a great housewarming gift. They're simple enough that everyone would love them, but they're still fun and cute!
