From pillows, blankets, and now drink coasters. This is a great beginner project. You will crochet the base of the coaster first then apply the basic embroidery design. A full video tutorial shows you exactly how to sew on each design element. So if you've never embroidered, now's the time."

I wasnt familiar with Mudcloth fabric but this entry inspired me to do some searching. Im constantly amazed at how creative we ladies can be, even with minimal materials to work with. This is a basic pattern that will charm Beginners and more Advanced crafters alike. You can work any sort of design you want. Even if you decide not to work up this pattern, watch the video just to expand your knowledge.

I had never heard of mud cloth until a few months ago when I came across a pattern for a mudcloth pillow. Now I find these mud cloth coasters and wonder if I have been missing a fashion trend only to find out that mud cloth has been around since ancient times. There is no set design for the symbols used so you get to let your creativity run wild.
