My grandmother would make washcloths and it seems that they would last forever. I do not know why I thought about that. I guess seeing this post brought it up. I have yet to try and use the scrubbie yarn but I did add it to my list for the next time I go out. I saved this pattern for just such the occasion.

This type of project is great for so many reasons. You can make and stash this to gift or donate and because of how little yarn is required, it is not going to break the bank. With the directions for this project you can make a large and a small cloth with a single skein of yarn.

If you need a great, useful and quick to work up, last minute gifting idea- then here you go. Her pattern is unique in that it is kind of done on the corner to corner technique. I would make a half dozen of them and stick them in a basket and keep them at the kitchen sink AND in the bathroom. There are so many fun colors to choose from at Michaels craft store.
