This super simple Kitty Cat Hat can easily be worked up in an evening. The designer starts with a Foundation Single Crochet because it gives more stretch and its her favorite way to start a project (mine, too!) The ending result is a longer tube than you would expect (see the posted diagram), but part of the length is used up when you fashion the ears, and the rest is rolled up to form a brim.

So cute. Loved it

I absolutely love this and had planned on making this my second project during my second breast cancer journey...then Madonna had to go and ruin it for me...sigh...

I am confused. Pattern says bulky/chunky.. It also says worsted weight.Which is it?

Hi Deedee, This pattern uses worsted weight yarn, and it has been updated to reflect this. Thanks for pointing this out! Julia, editor for AllFreeCrochet

This Kitty Cat Beanie Hat is so cute! I know a few ladies out there who wold love this. The pattern is well written and has a video link for the beginning chain which is nice and stretchy. I'll be making a few of these cute hats for Christmas gifts. Thank you so much for this free pattern.

Perfect hat for all the cat lovers out there, can't wait to make myself one!
