Women don't wear fashion hats much any more these days. This would be a good starter hat to test the waters. Being such a little thing it will not be overpowering and just add a special touch to the special event day. Plan the outfit and have the hat to match.

Just this month there was a major function that a lot of hats came out of the closet across the pond. This little bitty thing may have been lost in the crowd but still could have stood with the best of them. Unique and an item that can be customized.

Wow the directions for this Fancy Fascinator Hat is so complete with many pictures showing just what to do. I'm not sure I would do the Lace or Tulle part though, I'm not sure when I would use a hat or hair pin like this? But I do like the flower part and I think it would be easy to make and look great just to keep my hair out of my face. Looking forward to making a few in different colors. Im not sure how popular Fascinators are among the general public any more, but the Steam Punk crowd still appreciates them. This clever project uses minimal crochet, and the designer offers a link to a heart shape if the crafter is so inclined. The rest of the project is well illustrated with step by step photos. This would also make a nice costume piece for Halloween, too.

This is such a good idea. A crochet fascinator. Love it. The crochet part here is just actually that tiny base that you can crochet in different colors depending on the occasion. That is easy and fast to make. Then you can choose a lovely lace fabric that you would like to attach to that fascinator again, in colors appropriate to the hat base and will coordinate with the whole ensemble.
