Lemonade Cocoon and Hat Set

"Baby blankets are cute, but sometimes a soft, cozy cocoon is just what baby wants! This one is generously sized at approximately 18” long x 24” in circumference. I added a drawstring at the top, but you could leave it out if you prefer. The hat is a simple beanie just perfect to keep little heads warm. Just slip the hat on, and the cocoon over baby’s torso and you are ready to go! I made this in a combination of three yarns, two solids and one print, but you could make it in any combination you like. Try stripes or pick one solid color to really let the texture shine through! Size: Cocoon = 18” long x 24” circumference; Beanie = 5.5” long and 14” circumference."

I love this cocoon set! The embellishments on the hat do not suit a baby boy, so I would probably leave this off. The remainder of the cocoon reminds me of Iowa Hawkeye colors, which is my familys favorite team, so I would definitely leave the colors the same. If you are looking for a more feminine set, try making it in pink or purple. Maybe changing the color would make it more feminine.

It looks like a tweed suit. Not a very feminine out fit. But it would be very cute on a little guy. I read the directions and it is very easy. It's very well written and easy to follow. And it will make up quickly. Thank you for sharing this great project.

With the emphasis on placing Baby on their back to sleep, these cocoons are perfect for keeping Baby both safe and warm. I like how this pattern uses a variegated central yarn but is accented by bold solid colors. This is no namby pamby pastel creation! In addition to the coordinated hat, the designer also provides a link to her matching baby blanket.
