It is always great to be able to accentuate an outfit with a matching or contrasting pop of color. Here is a perfect example of how that can be accomplished. I love this technique used to create this simple crochet necklace and I have big plans to make at least two of these. My favorite color is blue and I have to decide another color to use. Thanks for the free pattern.

Even after you read the directions you never really understand how easy/difficult a project will be until you begin working it yourself. I have never heard of the spider stitch but the tutorial that Jessie provided gives me the confidence to try it. I love to learn new techniques. (The plant is beautiful also)

I've never heard of the spider stitch, and I've never done this type of necklace before, where the twist is worked directly into the piece as you go along. For those reasons I am just slightly intimidated at attempting this project. I also wonder what comparable yarn I can use in lieu of the yarn called for? I don't think I can get this yarn where I live. It has such a nice finished look to it, though. I can imagine wearing this with a simple linen tunic in the summer.
