Cancer Ribbon Square
Cancer Ribbon Square

"Using the corner to corner technique, the cancer ribbon afghan block was designed to be the second square in the 2022 free CAL on my blog. I have the written instruction and chart on my blog post. February 4th is World Cancer Awareness Day and this block marks that day with the cancer ribbon. The heart in the centre is an added touch for February. You can make your cancer ribbon afghan block in any colour you choose. In mine here I chose to represent carers in the burgundy colour. There is a chart in the blog post with the cancer ribbon colours if you would like to refer to it. Why not make several of these squares with different colours to represent more cancer types? It would make a great afghan to donate to your local cancer centre? If afghans are not your thing then in DC it would make an 18″ throw pillow, or you can sew two squares together to create a beautiful tote! There are so many things you can make with an afghan block. I made mine entirely with scrap yarn (the burgundy) and a part used skein (Caron simply soft in white). SIZING: The pattern is written for a 25 x 25 block using the corner to corner technique. You could also use the graph to create a SC or HDC wall hanging."
