This bookmark would be the perfect gift for any avid readers you may have on your list. I love making granny squares, and this would be the perfect addition to my pile of granny square patterns! I am somewhat inexperienced at blocking, but I have faith in YouTube to help me through.

Isnt it amazing how the humble granny square never seems to go out of fashion? The easy to work directions for a rectangular version are followed by some photos to help illustrate the steps. The directions call for #10 crochet thread, but any thin fingering yarn would work as well. I have some tinseled Christmas yarn left over from other projectsI think I might try that out.

This pattern is like a blanket I made for my son in the 70's even the colour of the wool used here is identical. Brought back happy memories. Thanks

I made couple of these bookmarks alternating two colors and gave them as gifts. The recipients love them.

The bookmark instructions together with the pictures were very easy to follow. For being intermediate, I personally found this easy. Thanks for sharing.
