I like the look of this set. The colors remind me of a deep plum jelly and a bowl of oatmeal. They are quite unusual colors for kitchen potholders, and that sets them apart from all the other ones I have seen here. It is modern, fresh. I think she did use a kitchen cotton or perhaps a cotton blend, according to her pattern details.

These are nice, big potholders although I am also wondering how effective they would be at preventing the heat from passing through. I noticed in the Comments that the designer actually plans to use them as hotpads instead. Im wondering if two center sections (the Bumpy Row part) could be stitched together using the suggested border. The double layer might work as a potholder where the single layer wouldnt.

Another beautiful Beginner Decorative Crochet Potholders. Great for those just learning how to crochet. The mom will be happy to have these in her kitchen especially when hand made by her daughter or maybe even son. Why not? Can be made in any color. Endless choices.

This potholder looks very similar to the spa cloths that I am making now. I will be selling some at local bazaars and the rest I will be giving away as Christmas gifts. The stitch is not the same one that I am using but it is very very similar. The instructions for this are very easy. I will save this pattern in case I need a potholder. Which I am sure that I will, I mean who couldnt aways use a new potholder. If you dont have any of the Dishie yarn she used, I would recommend cotton yarn. Any other material transfers heat to quickly to your hands.

This is indeed an easy pattern. I think most of us crocheters started out making pot holders. I went from that to afghans. Now I am into everything. This is one I would highly recommend to anyone, beginner or seasoned pro. You can embellish it to suit the decor. Thank you for offering this.
